Background information:

Daniel^7 Van Wicklen (Daniel^6, John^5. Jacob^4, Garret^3, Gerrit^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes) was b. 7 November 1849, E. Norwich, NY and died 28 May 1885, Brooklyn (Central Ave) and is bur. Evergreen Cem., Brooklyn. At the time of the 1880 US Census for Brooklyn, Kings, NY, he was a retail milk dealer. He married Emma M. Bailey (b. 23 October 1852, E. 21st St, NYC, NY) on 8 November 1876--Rev. WW Bowdish (Methodist) presiding. Emma's second marriage (29 May 1894) was to Cornelius Brownell. By marriage to Cornelius she had a child, Inez Skiff (b. abt. 1896) who married Frank W. Wheeler. (This information is discrepant with that found in the 1900 US Census which indicates that Cornelius' surname was Skill and that their daughter, b. 1894, was named Meg A. Skiff...not Inez.)

Children: Mary^8 Gertrude Van Wicklen, b. 6 December 1880, Brooklyn, NY. She married Ernest Paris Seelman (b. 20 January 1875; s/o Maurice and Eliz. (Moss) Seelman of Brooklyn) on 28 June 1904. Mary Gertrude had 1) Viola^9 Bailey Seelman (b. 2 September 1907, Brooklyn) who married Maurice Odquist 26 October 1929 (two children) and 2) Constance Van Wicklen Seelman (b. 13 January 1913, Brooklyn) who married George Ludwig Ahrens (one child); Viola^8 Van Wicklen, b. 5 June 1884, Brooklyn, NY. She married Charles Albright (b. 1874, of NYC) 5 June 1910. Viola had Charles Barton Albright (b. 9 April 1913) who married 10 October 1936 Shirley Hutchinson (2 children) (by Emma's 2nd marriage to Cornelius Skiff) Meg^8 A. Skiff, b. Sept 1894, NY

He had a milk business on Butler St. in Brooklyn when he met Emma who lived in Brooklyn also. Mary Gertrude had 1) Viola^9 Bailey Seelman (b. 2 September 1907, Brooklyn) who married Maurice Odquist 26 October 1929 (two children) and 2) Constance Van Wicklen Seelman (b. 13 January 1913, Brooklyn) who married George Ludwig Ahrens (one child). Viola had Charles Barton Albright (b. 9 April 1913) who married 10 October 1936 Shirley Hutchinson (2 children)

1870 US Census for Brooklyn, Ward 6, Kings, NY lists Andrew Van Wicklen, 31, Clerk in store with wife, Margt, 32, keeps house, and dau. Hattie, 6 and son, Frank, 4. Also, Andrew's mother, Hanna, 51, at home, and the following brothers and sisters of Andrew: Catherine, 21, dress maker, Margaretta, 18, attends store, Daniel, 20, milk route, and Emma, 14. (As noted above, Daniel^6, Andrew's father, drowns while clamming in Oyster Bay in 1861.)

1880 US Census for Brooklyn, Kings, NY lists David? Van Wicklen, 30, retail milk dealer (b. NY; both parents b. NY) and wife Emma, 27 (b. NY, father b. CT, mother b. NY).
